A Personal Message from Mike...
"Over the years I have benefited from the cumulative knowledge of many mentors, some of whom were instrumental in the initial design and ongoing evolution of the Minnesota Model. My entire career has focused on designing, operating and improving treatment models that meld the wisdom and unparalleled support of the self-help movement with the knowledge, skills and attitudes of passionate and professional caregivers. As a leader I have bridged the clinical dimensions of patient/client care with sound management principles and practices. To me this is about balance: Balancing the investment in continuous learning with tangible improvements; balancing clearly defined processes with a creative staff culture that invites innovation; balancing effective human resource systems with a respectful and caring work environment; and balancing compassion with financial sustainability.
My passion and commitment has always been, and still is, to carry the message to the still-suffering alcoholic/addict; to pass on the hope that has helped so many over the years. Experience has taught me that the Minnesota Model of care for addiction is a dynamic model that can be tailored to meet the unique needs of the clients and families it services within a variety of program configurations and staffing patterns.
My goal for Minnesota Model Consulting is to assist organizations, leaders and community representatives to customize and implement the Minnesota Model in order to provide optimally effective care for those in need."
